Rei received the 2nd prize award from Via Nova International Composition Competition during XI. Weimarer Frühjahrstage für zeitgenössische Musik for his composition Pouring Etiquette scored for flute, cello, and piano. The work was performed by Ensemble Marges, one of the most established contemporary music ensemble in Germany, in the festival's highlight concert.
